Good underlying operations in a very demanding market
KBN’s net interest income in the first quarter of 2020 was NOK 443 million as compared to NOK 458 million in the same period in 2019. KBN’s underlying operations were good, but the very turbulent market conditions affected its result for the first quarter and balance sheet as at the end of the quarter.
KBN has reached the end of a tumultuous and volatile quarter, raising approximately USD 3.0 billion equivalent via its diversified funding programme.

The Government of Norway has today submitted a proposal to increase the equity capital of Kommunalbanken (KBN) with NOK 750 million. This capital increase would enable KBN to lend up to an extra NOK 25 billion to the local government sector.
