On Wednesday 16 October 2019, Knut Hvithammer, the Mayor of Sør-Odal Municipality, proudly opened Glommasvingen School by handing over a beautifully carved wooden key to the head of the student council.
The old retirement home from the 1970s was too small, and Frogn Municipality needed to create more spaces to prepare for a future with more elderly people.
For the CFO of Kongsvinger Municipality, the maths was simple: a green loan from KBN would save them NOK 6.5 million in interest expense on the Municipality’s new lower secondary school.
The new Ullerud Health and Care Centre is the largest construction project ever undertaken in the history of Frogn Municipality, and it is Norway’s largest health and care centre in mass timber. Mass timber was the obvious choice of material as it was the best in terms of price and for the environment.
Asker Municipality is building an environmentally friendly nursery and a swimming pool complex, and is saving money thanks to green loan financing from KBN.
